A failed Jaguar engine can leave you with knocking, smoke, overheating, low oil pressure or a car that will not start. Driving on can turn a repairable fault into serious internal damage. Range Rover Engine Rebuilt diagnoses engine faults and provides Jaguar engine rebuild, reconditioning and replacement services for petrol and diesel vehicles. We work with four cylinder, V6 and V8 units, including 2.0 Ingenium and 3.0 V6 diesel applications.

We offer tested used engines, reconditioned Jaguar engines, supply only orders and a full engine supply and fit service. Each vehicle is matched by registration, VIN, engine code and gearbox details. This shows which turbo, injectors, sensors, sump and other parts need checking or transfer. Vehicle collection and UK wide engine delivery can also be arranged.

Before work starts, our technicians inspect the fault and explain whether repair, rebuild or replacement is the sensible choice. A rebuild keeps the serviceable core and renews damaged parts. A reconditioned engine is prepared and tested before fitting. A tested used unit can suit a tighter budget when available. Ask Range Rover Engine Rebuilt for a clear quote based on your registration or engine code.

Jaguar Engine Rebuild, Reconditioning And Replacement Services

Not every warning light or engine noise means the full engine has failed. Diagnosis comes first. Tests may include a scan, oil pressure and compression checks, a cooling system pressure test and an inspection for metal in the oil. Results show whether the fault is inside the engine or in a connected part such as the turbo, EGR system, DPF, injector or cooling system.

If the block and cylinder head are serviceable, rebuilding may be the right repair. The engine is stripped, cleaned, inspected and measured. Damaged bearings, seals, gaskets, timing parts and other worn items are renewed as needed. The crankshaft, bores, pistons, valves and cylinder head are checked before reassembly and testing.

When the core is cracked, seized or too badly worn, we can fit a compatible used or reconditioned Jaguar replacement engine. Supply only and supply and fit options are available. The written quote should state the engine condition, fitting work, included parts and warranty terms, so you know what is covered before approving the job.

Jaguar Models And Engine Specifications We Cover

Jaguar used several engines within the same model, and some units changed during a model year. The table summarises the engines we can match. Power varies by year and trim.

Model Engine options and layout Factory output range

Jaguar XF

2.0 turbo four-cylinder petrol and diesel; 2.2 turbo four-cylinder diesel; 3.0 twin-turbo V6 diesel; 3.0 supercharged V6 petrol; 5.0 V8 petrol, naturally aspirated or supercharged

163 to 550 PS

Jaguar XJ

2.0 turbo four-cylinder petrol; 3.0 twin-turbo V6 diesel; 3.0 supercharged V6 petrol; 5.0 V8 petrol, naturally aspirated or supercharged

240 to 575 PS

Jaguar XK

5.0 V8 petrol, naturally aspirated or supercharged

385 to 550 PS

Jaguar F-TYPE

2.0 turbo four-cylinder petrol; 3.0 supercharged V6 petrol; 5.0 supercharged V8 petrol

300 to 575 PS

Jaguar XE

2.0 turbo four-cylinder petrol and diesel; 3.0 supercharged V6 petrol; 5.0 supercharged V8 petrol in the Project 8

163 to 600 PS

Jaguar F-PACE

2.0 turbo four-cylinder petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid; 3.0 V6 diesel and supercharged petrol; 3.0 inline-six mild-hybrid petrol and diesel; 5.0 supercharged V8 petrol

163 to 575 PS; plug-in hybrid up to 404 PS combined

Jaguar E-PACE

2.0 turbo four-cylinder petrol and diesel; 1.5 turbo three-cylinder petrol plug-in hybrid

150 to 300 PS; plug-in hybrid up to 309 PS combined

This is a coverage guide, not an engine-matching tool. The 3.0 V6 diesel is often known by the 306DT code, while later four-cylinder units are in the Ingenium family. Codes, power ratings and ancillaries can differ. We confirm the exact unit from the VIN, registration and number stamped on the engine.

Common Jaguar Engine Problems, Causes And Our Solutions

These are known fault patterns on relevant UK vehicles, but the same symptom can have several causes. We test the car before recommending a Jaguar engine repair or replacement. This avoids fitting an engine when a turbo, injector, sensor or cooling fault is the real problem.

Vehicle or engine Common problem Likely cause Our engine solution

F-PACE 2.0 Ingenium diesel

Whine or whistle with metal in the oil

The lower timing chain may contact the crankshaft balancer

Inspect the filter, sump and timing drive. Repair the timing parts, or rebuild or replace the engine if metal has damaged the bearings.

2.0 Ingenium diesel

Rising oil level or an early service warning

Repeated or extended DPF regeneration can dilute the engine oil with fuel

Diagnose the DPF fault, renew contaminated oil and test oil pressure. Inspect bearings before deciding on repair, rebuild or replacement.

XE and XF 2.0 diesel

High-pitched engine whine

Wear or a fault in the balance-shaft assembly

Separate balance-shaft noise from turbo or belt noise. Renew the assembly and check the oil for metal.

2.0 Ingenium petrol

Start-up rattle, engine light or timing codes

A VCT actuator, chain tensioner or timing component may be faulty

Read the fault codes and check cam timing. Renew failed timing parts, then assess the valves and pistons for damage.

XF, XJ or F-PACE 3.0 V6 diesel

Deep knock, low oil pressure or a seized engine

Main-bearing shell movement can damage the bearings and crankshaft

Strip and measure the 306DT engine. Rebuild a sound core or fit a matched replacement when the crank or block cannot be saved.

F-TYPE, XF or XJ 3.0 and 5.0 supercharged petrol

Coolant loss or an overheat warning

A plastic coolant outlet pipe or its welded joint may fail

Pressure-test the system and renew failed pipes. Check compression and head sealing before deciding if internal engine work is needed.

XF, XJ or XK 5.0 V8 petrol

Rough idle, hard starting or repeated misfire

Poor fuelling, injector faults or control settings can affect combustion

Check codes, fuel pressure, injectors and compression. Repair the fuelling fault first and rebuild only if tests show internal damage.

F-PACE 2.0 Ingenium diesel

Oil leak near the lower or rear timing cover

A seal or sealant joint may leak

Find the leak, renew the seal or reseal the cover, refill with the correct oil and check for damage caused by oil loss.

Stop the engine if the oil-pressure light stays on, the temperature reaches the red area, or there is a heavy knock. Continued running can damage the crankshaft, bearings, cylinder head, turbo or block. Recovery is safer than driving with these signs.

How does our Jaguar engine supply and fitting service work?

Send Range Rover Engine Rebuilt the registration, VIN if available, mileage, gearbox type, symptoms and your location. We check the engine identity and available options before quoting. The quote explains whether the unit is used, reconditioned or rebuilt. It should also list the fitting work, included ancillaries, collection or delivery, expected turnaround and the warranty that applies.

For a supply and fit booking, collection can be arranged for a non-running vehicle. At the workshop, we remove the failed unit and check connected systems that could damage the replacement. This may include the cooling circuit, turbo oil supply, injectors, intake, EGR and DPF. We fit the matched engine, add the required fluids and filters, connect the vehicle systems and complete the agreed repairs.

Final checks cover fault codes, leaks, temperature and running quality. A road test follows when safe. Supply only engines can be delivered across the UK to a suitable garage. Warranty cover and service duties follow the written terms, so check them before booking.
